The Compliance Team makes sure that homes, schools, shops, and public buildings in Samoa meet fire
safety standards. Our goal is to protect lives and property by reducing risks and ensuring buildings are
prepared for emergencies.
What We Do
- Dangerous Goods – We regulate hazardous and flammable materials such as fuels and
chemicals. Our team checks that they are stored, handled, and transported safely. - Fire Investigation & Analysis – After a fire, we investigate how and why it happened. By
analyzing evidence, burn patterns, or electrical faults, we identify the cause and help prevent
future incidents. - Inspections – We carry out regular safety checks in buildings and workplaces. This includes
making sure fire alarms, hydrants, sprinkler systems, and emergency exits are in place and up to
standard. Inspections help catch risks before they become dangers - Building Permits – Before construction or renovations begin, we review building plans and
permit applications. We check that designs follow fire safety codes, so structures are safe from
the start.
We believe that when fire safety regulations are followed and buildings are well-inspected,
communities are safer and more resilient. Our team works closely with architects, builders, property
owners, and the public to make sure Samoa’s buildings are strong, safe, and ready for any emergency.
